The flat sides of the pendant are engraved with "JAM HOME MADE & ready made" and "POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE (UNITY)".
PMA = Positive Mental Attitude
A philosophy advocated by an American author, encouraging people to live life with a positive mindset.
It later permeated the punk rock scene, which at the time was filled with social criticism and self-destructive behavior.
In contrast to the conventional punk rock notion that "being loose and rebellious against society is what makes you punk," bands with a desire for change emerged.
Hardcore bands like Minor Threat and Bad Brains championed the PMA policy, urging others not to just rely on the punk label but to think forward and stay positive.
As the foundation of this stance, a three-rule pledge of "Don't smoke, don't drink, don't engage in casual sex" was established.
This policy came to be known as "Straight Edge,"
and this philosophical concept has been applied to this JAM HOME MADE collection.
Rich in such deep meaning, the PMA series is available in two variations: a gunmetal color coating and Silver. The gunmetal color coating develops more character the more you wear it, allowing you to enjoy its unique aging process.
