"Tradition lives on.
A new leather accessory has been created in collaboration with JAMHOMEMADE, the 14th generation head of Koshu Inden, a tradition boasting over 400 years of history.

The pattern motif is "LEOPARD." Based on the theme of "JAM" (meaning "to crush"), this "Jamunimal" technique is expressed using Inden techniques, embossing multiple exotic leathers onto a single piece of tough leather to create a unique material.

"Inden" is a traditional leather craft passed down in Koshu for over 400 years, a unique technique for applying patterns to deerskin with lacquer. Inden, which applies lacquer patterns to deerskin, is a proud Japanese leather craft that combines the opposing elements of strength, softness, and lightness. The more it is used, the more it becomes comfortable in the hand. The lacquer's luster deepens over time, creating a truly beautiful appearance that is both practical and beautiful.

This classic Inden-ya coin purse (a clasp purse) features a cute, round shape and a unisex design, featuring red-dyed deerskin and a white lacquer print. Its gusseted design prevents it from losing its shape even when filled with coins, and its wide opening makes it easy to see inside and access coins. The soft texture of the deerskin can be felt when held in the palm of your hand. It can also be used as a small item holder or accessory case.

Herbivore and carnivore. Prey and predator. These opposing ideas are combined to create a quietly assertive presence.

The supple texture of the deerskin evokes two stories: serenity and ferocity. Timeless craftsmanship and ever-evolving philosophy. This is the Inden of today, as presented by JAMHOMEMADE.

Inden Characteristics
〇 Lacquer may lose its luster if exposed to sunlight (UV rays) for extended periods.
〇 Lacquer may crack during the processing process. It may also chip or peel. The same applies if it is bent or scratched.
〇 Deer leather may have scratches caused by horns rubbing against it, but these are valued as evidence of its natural origin.
Deer leather may be damaged by rubbing or the surface being exposed during use.
〇 Because the skin properties of each piece of deer leather are different, there may be slight variations in the color tone of the dip-dye. There may also be uneven coloring in some areas. Deer leather may discolor or fade due to sunlight, lighting, and aging.

Cautions and Requests
〇 Because the product is completely dried in a shaded room, there is little risk of rashes caused by the lacquer. However, in rare cases, rashes may occur depending on your constitution. If this occurs, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
〇 In order to preserve the natural characteristics of the deerskin, no special color-fast treatment has been applied. Therefore, sweat, water, friction, etc. may cause changes in texture, or the leather dye may transfer to clothing.

Care Instructions
〇 If the product gets wet, do not rub it. Instead, gently pat it with a dry cloth to remove moisture and dry it in the shade. Do not use gasoline, cleaners, or wax to remove dirt or polish.

Indenya

A collaboration with Inden-ya, the headquarter of the traditional leather craft "Inden."
JAM HOME MADE has created a completely original pattern. JAM's iconic original pattern leather products are expressed using traditional techniques.

"Inden" is a leather craft that has been passed down in Koshu (Yamanashi) for over 400 years, and "Inden-ya" is a long-established "Inden" store founded in 1582.
During the Edo period, our ancestor, Yuichi Uehara, invented a unique technique for applying patterns to deerskin with lacquer. This is said to be the beginning of Koshu Inden.
In 1987, Koshu Inden was designated a Traditional Craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Inden's traditional techniques are a way of conveying the culture of this rare leather craft as a practical beauty that adds color to life.

Throughout its long history, Inden has produced numerous products that are in tune with the times while preserving traditional techniques. With the desire to introduce Inden to the younger generation, we create original patterns such as leopard print, anechoic chamber pattern, check pattern, and punched (dot) pattern using Inden techniques.
We add the personal value of precious stones, which is unique to JAM, to traditional craftsmanship, updating it with a modern and chic taste. Without being bound by convention, we will deliver special Inden products from a modern perspective that will be loved by more customers.
