Coach jackets got their name from being worn by American football coaches.
I don't think the American football coaches who were the originators of the coach jacket were the kind of "demon" coaches who routinely used violence and corporal punishment, as often portrayed in recent news. (Like certain soccer coaches, American football coaches, baseball coaches, etc.)

The collar is a gentle, rounded collar, aiming to be a model coach jacket.
The shoulders are designed with diversity in mind, featuring a raglan sleeve on the right and a set-in sleeve on the left.
