The famous rugby motto, "One For All, All For One," is said to originate from the novel "The Three Musketeers," written in 1844 by the French author Alexandre Dumas.
Even further back in Japan, around 1574, Ishida Mitsunari used a phrase with the same meaning: "Daiichi Daiman Daikichi" (If one person serves all, and all serve one, people will be happy).
The relationship between the individual and the group, while respecting individuality, has remained unchanged from ancient times to the present, regardless of country, and will become even more important in the future.
